Social Studies Reassessment Policy
Policy:
When reassessment is offered, students must have completed the original task or assessment, and meet at least one of the following requirements:
complete missing or incomplete assignments
complete supplemental learning tasks to indicate readiness for reassessment
complete a mini conference with the teacher
This may include re-teaching/re-learning activities as determined by the teacher
The highest score is what is entered into Powerschool
It is highly likely that the reassessment grade will replace the previous score.
In PowerSchool the old score is included in a comment.
Given a limit per semester?
Summative: Students have one week to complete the reassessment after the first attempt. There will be a maximum of one reassessment opportunity unless the instructor deems it necessary for more attempts.
If there is a plan to reassess the same learning outcome in future units, then an additional reassessment is not necessary.
Formative is a continuous assessment that relies upon feedback from the instructor.
The following final measures of learning may not be reassessed:
End-of-course or end of semester exams,
End of semester summative assessments.
