CDS's Korean history class does not insist on a typical approach to teaching history. Students will learn about the history of Korea in connection with various disciplines. Students, for example, will have a wide range of learning opportunities based on their interests in political history, economic history, cultural history, social history, history of science and technology, art history, music history, history of education, history of religion, military history, women's history, and so on.
In this respect, the Korean history class at CDS will be a kind of Korean studies class. In order to lead these classes successfully, I have not only taught students for a long time in various educational fields at prestigious high schools in Korea, but also studied a variety of subjects at the graduate level. Therefore, each student's interests and academic goals will be reflected in the class as much as possible.
The classes will be highly academic and very practical, and all questions about Korea are encouraged. You are very busy 11th graders, but I hope that Korean history classes at CDS will provide you with fond memories from your school days. I hope it will be a time to learn a lot about Korea, discuss it, and enjoy it.
Students can expect the following from the teacher concerning the following:
GOOGLE CLASSROOM - All assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. If you are having trouble locating it, contact the teacher.
RUBRICS AND POLICIES - Once posted here they will not change. However, if a chance is necessary the teacher will inform students well in advance and will clearly mark the changes.
