The purpose of AP® Psychology is to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. A variety of activities, demonstrations, and projects will be provided to meet this goal of instructing scientific and empirical approaches.
The first semester will cover the scientific foundations of psychology, biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning, cognitive psychology, and developmental psychology.
The second semester will cover motivation, emotion, and personality, as well as clinical psychology, and social psychology.
Projects: 30%
Unit Exams: 40%
Coursework: 30%
All participants in class are expected to be courteous and kind at all times. Following the rules of the school is more about maintaining a safe and enjoyable educational experience than just being obedient. To this end, all students are expected to uphold the standards of CDS at all times.

Students can expect the following from the teacher concerning the following:
GOOGLE CLASSROOM - All assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. If you are having trouble locating it, contact the teacher.
RUBRICS AND POLICIES - Once posted they will not change. However, if a chance is necessary the teacher will inform students well in advance and will clearly mark the changes.
