This course introduces students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine socioeconomic organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their research and applications. The curriculum reflects the goals of the National Geography Standards (2012).
The first and second semester will consist of the following Human Geography topics provided by College Board CED.

This course will be graded using traditional grading not Standards Based Grading (SBG).
Deadlines are there to help you keep on track and prepare for the exam.
In exceptional circumstances and with discussion with the teacher, a short extension may be granted but these will be dealt with on a one-to-one basis.
Late work will be accepted but it must be completed in a timely manner - preferably no later than one week after the initial due date.
If more than two pieces of work are missing at any one time, then students will be automatically put forward for MTSS regardless of their grade.
For Summative Assessments students may do Test Corrections for .25 points per correction. However, there will not be any re-assessments.

RUBRICS AND POLICIES - Once posted here they will not change. However, if a chance is necessary the teacher will inform students well in advance and will clearly mark the changes.
