Geometry is based on developing reasoning and problem solving skills through topics such as congruence and similarity, and applying properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. Problem - solving skills are constructed using length, perimeter, area, circumference, surface area, and volume to solve real-word problems. A large emphasis is placed on developing the skill of logical reasoning and deductive reasoning. Geometry also builds the foundation for Trigonometric understanding and success.
