In the Grade 9 Locally Developed English Course, students develop and apply the communication skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as their knowledge of language conventions, making connections between informational, literary and media texts under study, and their personal experience. As students apply literacy, numeracy and work related skills, they learn to build relationships and to make informed choices in order to prepare for the school-work transition as well as to become responsible citizens in today’s society. The Grade 9 Locally Developed English Course prepares students for the workplace stream.
