Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
This summer all four of us are under the same roof, and we are thankful for the time we have as a family. It seems those days are getting less frequent and more precious.
Rachel travelled to Texas for two weeks to complete 100 internship hours for her degree. She worked with Angie’s sister, Lisa, at her ministry called Mission Denton. During the first week, eighty people were split into teams and conducted backyard Bible clubs in low-income neighborhoods. A total of fifteen locations were visited each day. Mission Denton approximates that 270 children heard the Gospel. Bible studies will continue for the duration of the summer. Since returning home, she is using her photography skills for a local magazine and being a nanny to three children.
Brandon is busy with his lawn mowing business, The Lawn Barbers. He and his buddy have several yards in our neighborhood. He also stays busy doing yard related work for several men outside of our neighborhood. So far, he’s power washed a deck, laid sod, hauled rocks and sticks and much more. When he’s not working, he has football practice or hangs out with his friends. It’s hard to believe he will be 16 next month and able to drive on his own.
Angie and I just finished a trip to the Houston area, where I worked two Weekend to Remember events. Angie joined me before the second event and we had a chance to visit with friends in the area. We enjoyed seeing friends and former college friends we haven’t seen in years. It was fun to reconnect with them, hear what is happening in their lives and remember the past. Serving alongside each other at the second Weekend to Remember was a joy. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. We got to pray, interact, and help the local volunteer team and guests. The three quotes listed are from those two events. (To see top ten quotes from both events click here.)
As a newlywed, the getaway was an extension of our honeymoon to help us establish God’s design for our new covenant!

I chose my birthday weekend for us to attend . . . and I’m so thankful I did. I could not think of a better gift than a great marriage.
Wife, married 6 months - Houston (Galleria)
Humbling! I didn’t even know my husband was feeling so unloved. He was shocked to peel back the layers and recognize how much I really do love him. Our ways of expressing and accepting are just simply different, not less than.
Wife married 16 years - Sugar Land
Angie, Brandon and I are looking forward to our time in July at our staff conference on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins. This will be a time of refreshment and worship with thousands of other staff members and their families. Then in August we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! We are still trying to figure out what we will do, so if you have any ideas feel free to share.
