Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
In a span of two months, our family members have moved into three new to them homes. It has been really tiring but also encouraging to see these milestones in each situation.
Rachel got the ball rolling with the purchase of her first home in Springdale, AR in mid July. By the time we got there, a week later, to help she and a friend had already started priming the paneling, bought the needed appliances and many other things. We helped her paint almost her whole house, clean, did a little yard work and helped a group of her friends move her things from her apartment. By the end of her moving day she had almost everything unpacked!
Next was Brandon and Morgan closing on their first home in Little Rock, AR the later half of August. By the time we arrived in Little Rock to help them they had already scraped the popcorn ceilings and started the process of texturing them. We then helped them paint the walls in every room in their house, pulled a few weeds out of the flower beds and removed some old ceiling fans. They have since finished priming and painting the ceiling and with the help of some friends moved their belongings into the house.
And last, but not least, was moving Angie’s mom and dad from Meridian (where they lived for 52 years!) to assisted living in mid September. They now live 20 minutes from us and Angie’s sister making it easier for us to visit and help them when needed. While this wasn’t an easy decision for any involved, we can certainly see God’s hand in the timing and the logistics of this coming together. They seem to be adjusting to their new home. Richard is particularly enjoying not having to cook or clean and they are receiving great care from the staff.
What a joy it has been to see our kids buy and move into their first homes. It has been a busy season to say the least, but we are thankful that we were established in our new home and area before these moves took place. We are also thankful that we were able to be part of each of these moves and that we weren’t in the middle our busy work season.
We are so thankful for each of you and your prayers and financial support that allows us to minister to families across the country and our own families as well.
Pray for us as we prepare to serve in Louisville, Coeur d’Alene and San Antonio this fall.
