Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
At FamilyLife, we are always looking for ways to share our biblical content with broader audiences. With so many platforms available to people, it is challenging for our Digital Team to know how, when and where to share. With these efforts to reach more people came the need to expanded our Digital Team. We are grateful to God for His provision of these additional staff members to our small but mighty team!
Collaboration within our walls and with others outside our walls is one of the best ways to reach more people. Most recently, the Content, Video and Digital teams put their heads together to find ways to further our message via social media. YouTube and Instagram are two platforms we are currently working on to reach new audiences and generate more space to share content. The following story will help explain how this went recently.
For over 40 years our radio program, FamilyLife Today, has been an effective way to reach audiences across the United States and around the world. Guests from all around the world go to headquarters in Orlando to be interviewed by our radio hosts, Dave and Ann Wilson. During those interviews, the conversations with our guests, both audio and video is recorded. Recently our Digital team decided to post a short video segment from a radio guest interview to our FamilyLife Instagram. In addition, that team member invited the couple being interviewed to collaborate on that post not knowing if they would accept. They did! As a result, FamilyLife was exposed to many of their thousands of social media followers. In the following days, hundreds of social media followers contacted FamilyLife, requesting the full episode that was intended for radio broadcast only and had not been released on FamilyLife Today via radio. The Digital Team quickly jumped into action and posted the full radio interview, “How’s Your Marriage?’ with Jackie and Preston Perry, on YouTube (www.youtube.com/@familylife).
In just over 2 weeks this episode has 177,000 views (stats to the right are after 1 week)! But, “views” and “likes” are not the goal. It’s about reaching new audiences with the same Biblical truth through new outlets. We give thanks to our radio guest couple who chose to let us into their social media space and share our content with their social media followers.
At the Weekend to Remember is not unusual to have 80% of the audience say this is their first FamilyLife event! At our recent event in Frisco, Angie and I both had couples tell us they found out about the event either on Facebook or through a Google search. God is truly using the digital spaces to reach those who need Him.
Pray God would continue to give our teams collaboration with others as we continue to share the hope of the Gospel with wider audiences.
Pray God would bring hope and healing to marriages as the Weekend to Remember getaways continue across the US. There are 23 getaways between now and Christmas.
Pray as God opens doors of opportunity for us to minister to our neighbors.
