Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
I hope you have had a wonderful summer making memories with your family and friends. Ours has been quite the adventure and had some unexpected turns along the way.
It started off with an invitation to join our kids at Pensacola Beach and it was a wonderful, quick trip. We enjoyed time together soaking up the sunshine, seeing the sights and enjoying some delicious seafood. When we returned, we went right to our last event in Austin. During the Austin event, Angie got sick, but somehow managed to complete the event with excellence. She felt bad on and off for the next several weeks but is doing better now. We also gathered with our Re|Engage group to cap off the fourteen week study and praise God for how He used it in each of our lives.
In July, we enjoyed celebrating Independence Day by playing corn hole in the backyard, cooking out and watching fireworks with our kids. Then we headed to Milwaukee for our staff conference. This was a wonderful, refreshing and encouraging time spent with fellow staff members from across the country and around the world. While at staff conference, Rachel closed on her house in Springdale and Brandon and Morgan made an offer on a house in Little Rock! When we returned home, we made a trip to Arkansas for a friend’s wedding and to help Rachel with several house projects and move in. Next we made a duel purpose work trip to Florida. Angie and I then went to a preplanning trip for the January 2026 Speaker Retreat and I stayed to help the planner team prepare our equipment for another season of events. That capped off a stretch of 28 days where I was only home for 4!
A little over 24 hours after arriving home we received a phone call telling us that Angie’s parents had been in a wreck. Since that time we have been back and forth helping care for them and are now trying to find them a place to stay nearer to Angie and her sister in the Denton area. We also celebrated our 33rd anniversary during the month of August.
As we approach the fall Weekend to Remember season, I want to remind you that “Great Marriages Don’t Just Happen” you have to be intentional. I encourage you to find and attend an event this fall. This is a great time for you or anyone you know to sign up because we are running a sale between now and September 15th. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Praise for Cru25, our staff conference, in Milwaukee in July. It was a time of reconnection with staff, and physical and spiritual refreshment.
Pray for our kids as they settle into their first houses. Pray that the projects they each are doing at their houses will go smoothly and turn out like they hope.
Pray for Angie and her sister as they workout the care and living situation for their parents.
Pray for us as we prepare for the event season.
