Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
Angie and I are officially part of our church’s Care Ministry. This comprehensive ministry is dedicated to assisting individuals in finding hope, healing, a sense of belonging, and spiritual growth. The Care Ministry provides various support services, including recovery groups, care groups, counseling, marriage care, and congregational care.
Re|Engage, one of the marriage care offerings, aims to assist couples in nurturing their relationships with their spouses, other couples, and God. This 14-lesson study equips couples with valuable tools to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and deepen intimacy. The study involves small group discussions facilitated by couples, creating a supportive atmosphere conducive to personal growth.
Last fall, our home group went through this study together. It wasn’t just about strengthening our marriage; it was also about learning a new tool we can use to help couples in need. Taking Re|Engage with our home group was an incredible experience. We got to know each other on a much deeper level, and it was a real blessing. It’s hard to put into words how meaningful, challenging, and helpful that time was for all of us.
Toward the end of the fall study, we were recommended to co-lead a group for this spring. After conversations with the Care Ministry leaders, a short training, and working through how that might work with our FamilyLife travel schedule we agreed to co-lead.
We are five weeks into the spring study and have had the privilege of hearing most of the couple's life stories (one couple shares each week) and have covered the following topics - Love, Brokenness, Grace, and Humility. We have laughed, cried, and had real and vulnerable conversations around each topic.
Please keep us in your prayers as we continue our co-leading journey. This week, we’re attending a training at Watermark Church, who developed the Re|Engage study. Additionally, please pray for the couples in our group and the four other groups at our church. Several of them have shared that they’re facing challenging situations, to the extent that some are contemplating separation or divorce. We are praying that God will show up in each of their lives, families, and circumstances and give them the strength and courage to have the conversation they need to have. We are also praying for the salvation of one of the couples in our group who said they do not have that relationship with Jesus.
Continue to pray that we will be used by God in the lives of the five couples in the Re|Engage class we are co-leading this spring.
Pray God would give us strength, health, and travel mercies during our busy March and first part of April.
Pray as God opens doors of opportunity for us to continue ministering to our neighbors who are having health and family issues.
