surrounds dermal papilla
Internal epithelial root sheath
covers root of hair follicle
External epithelial root sheath
continuous with epidermis
gives rise to sebaceous glands
Arrector pili muscle
Smooth muscle (💡raising hair = involuntary = smooth muscle)
Can straighten/raise hair
