Large Intestine/Colon

The large intestine is split into colons and cecum(listed above)

Cows have a split in their colon, the ascending colon has three sections: proximal, distal, spiral loop

• Transverse and descending colon do not have sections

• The purpose of the colon is for further water, electrolytes and vitamin absorption in the large intestine
