LARGEST ARTERY IN THE BODY
Oxygenated blood will leave the heart through the aorta
Branches off to make other arteries and the aortic arch
Brachiocephalic trunk: immediate branch from the aorta
Pulmonary trunk: part of the pulmonary artery, which will extend into the pulmonary artery
Aortic arch will arch to the left, which is an arch to prevent backflow of blood
Coronary artery: immediate artery breaking from aorta, used to bring blood back to the heart
Celiac Artery:
Apart of abdominal aorta
Splits into gastric, splenic and hepatic artery
Mesenteric Artery
Brings oxygenated blood to pancreas, and parts of small and large intestines
Hepatic artery
Brings oxygenated blood to the liver
💡How to remember hepatic artery: hepatic = liver
Carotid Artery/Jugular Vein
Brings oxygenated blood to the head
Brachial artery
Brings blood to the forelimbs
Brachiocephalic Artery
Brings blood to the forelimb
Bronchial artery
Brings oxygenated blood to lungs
Femoral artery
Brings oxygenated blood to the hindlimbs
Brings deoxygenated and nutrient rich blood to the liver from the gut
Brings deoxygenated blood from the liver to the caudal vena cava to go through systemic circulation
Aorta!
To the pancreas, and parts of the small/large intestines
Hindlimb
