Week of 08.24.2020
No students are allowed to hold class in the lab this week as mitigation is not possible yet. We are waiting for materials to come in. Normally we would go over the parts of a computer and the rules of the lab but we will be, weather depending, going outside and discussing the technology we used during the summer.
Remote learners, you will be required to log on to school accounts to access your work. Your technology assignment will be to type in your own username and passwords after you receive them. Usernames can be in all lowercase letters. They are not case sensitive meaning you can use all lowercase or uppercase on most computers.
If your password has numbers, use the ones above the letters and not the ones all by themselves on the keyboard. They don't always work and we don't want to make it harder for you. Our goal is to eventually memorize it. The sooner you're able to memorize your username and passwords, the faster you'll be able to log on and the quicker you can get your work done. This may take you several weeks and that's okay. Just keep trying. Memorizing only helps you!
Usernames and passwords are probably not new to you. We've been using them since Kindergarten to log into our school computers. In the past they were short and easy to remember but this year you are using your school email as your username for all of your school related sites and the same password for all accounts. This week's assignment is going to be completely integrated with your classroom assignments. Every time you need to log into a school account you will be practicing using your username and password. Your classroom teacher will provide your email information. When you feel comfortable with using it, you will fill out the form below. When the majority of our remote learning third and fourth graders are ready, we will set up our typing accounts.
