Week of 08.24.2020
No students are allowed to hold class in the lab this week as mitigation is not possible yet. We are waiting for materials to come in. Normally we would go over the parts of a computer and the rules of the lab but we will be, weather depending, going outside and discussing the technology we used during the summer.
Remote learners, you will be required to log on to school accounts to access your work. Your technology assignment will be to type in your own username and passwords after you receive them. Usernames can be in all lowercase letters. Your passwords may contain uppercase letters. Remember that we use both our pointer fingers and hold the shift with one finger while typing the letter with your other finger. Remember when we type it is quick and soft to protect the keyboard and to keep from making a lot of the same letters at the same time.
Remember: look for your letter, hold the shift key, move quick and soft as you type the letter. We always said, "hold, quick and soft" as we practiced last year.
If your password has numbers, use the ones above the letters and not the ones all by themselves on the keyboard. They don't always work and we don't want to make it harder for you. Don't be upset if you can't do it right away or it takes several attempts. It's not that easy for beginning first graders. Remember how we spent a long time learning how to long on to our computers in Kindergarten and they are much easier. If you need help, at least try doing your name by yourself to start. Good luck.
