Home Row
Home Row
Each finger has a home key. This is the key that your finger rests on when not in use. The home row keys are as follows: A S D F J K L ; and the thumbs rest on the space bar. You have four anchoring fingers. When making a reach, some fingers cannot reach without lifting the fingers around it so one finger from each hand will rest on a key at all times. If you are reaching with your D or F, then your A finger anchors or doesn't leave its home. If you are reaching with your A or S finger, the F finger stays on its home key. The same pattern applies to your right hand with the J and semi colon keys being the anchors.
