TECHNOLOGY - all grade levels. Click on the link below to go to the Specials' Remote Learning slides and choose one activity to complete or scroll down and follow the activities listed for your grade level.
Kindergarten:
Day One: Draw pictures of all the technology you used on your day off from school.
Day Two: Draw a picture showing how one piece of technology from above (or that you used today) makes your life better.
Day Three: Imagine what you would do instead if you didn't have a computer, tablet or phone to play games on. Draw a picture of that activity.
Alternate activity for students with access to Word or other word processing software: Write you sight word sentences using blank document, font size 36, type your first and last name, enter, enter, one, period, space. Try to do five to seven different sentences each snow day.
First Grade:
Day One: List all the technology you used on your day off from school.
Day Two: Pick two items from your list from the week before (or used today) and write or draw a picture of how they make your life better.
Day Three: If we have been off this long, you have had to find ways to occupy your time. Did you use a lot of technology or did you do other things like board games or puzzles? Was it a little of both? Which did you enjoy the most and why? Type your answer if you have a computer or tablet, write and/or draw on paper if you don't.
Alternate activity for students with access to Word: We have learned to do many things on Word this year. We made tables, typed poems, added pictures and more. Use your computer to create a project. Do a different project every week. Try to use a different tool each snow day.
Second Grade:
Day One: List all the technology you used on your day off from school and what you did with it.
Day Two: Pick two types of technology from last week's list (or what you used today) and write, or type if you can, how that technology has made your life better.
Day Three: Too much technology can be a problem. Schools have noticed that more and more students require occupational therapy because they lack fine motor skills. Let's work on those skills. Have Legos? Create a new form of technology that makes life better. Be creative. Have Play-Doh or clay? Use that for your new invention. Just paper and crayons, that's okay too. Draw a picture of your invention. Put a puzzle together. Just use your hands and fingers to create.

Third & Fourth Grades:
Go to Typing Club located under your grade lelve and go through the lessons using proper finger positions. Check your time before beginning or set a timer and type for at least thirty minutes. Make sure you are using proper reaches. I am more concerned about accuracy than speed so do your best to type the correct letters and do not worry about how long it is taking to finish a lesson. Speed comes with time and practice. If you have any questions, visit our Keyboarding Resources to see if they can be answered there.
Students with no WiFi access: Follow second grade lessons but you will be required to write your answers in complete sentences and it must be readable by an adult.
