This is my 30th teaching in Columbiana. I was born and raised in Green Township, halfway between Canfield and Columbiana. I am a 1986 graduate of South Range High School. After high school I went to Youngstown State University where in 1991 I received a Bachelors of Art degree in Education. I'm licensed in Elementary 1 - 8, Special Education K - 12, and I have concentrations in math and science with a reading validation. I went to Mount Union for my Kindergarten Endorsement but decided not to add that to my licensure. In 2001 I completed my Masters at Kent State University with a degree in Instructional Technology as by that time I was teaching technology almost exclusively. I have also been trained in and taught Reading Recovery for eight years. My current assignment is Technology K-4 and MTSS for grades Kindergarten and first.
I'm married and a proud mother of three, all of who graduated from Columbiana. The education they received served them well as they went on to great things. One is a pilot, another is an engineering and my youngest is in her final year at The University of Akron pursuing a degree in music education.
I have two grandchildren, one of which is starting Kindergarten at Columbiana next year where I'm confident she'll also receive an excellent education just like her father, uncle and aunt.
