Proper Hand Position
Proper Hand Position
Your wrists need to be straight. This can be done by keeping your elbows down by your side instead of sticking out like you're doing the chicken dance.
Your fingers need to be curved. If you have taken piano lessons, this is the same position your piano teacher has already discussed with you. If your fingers are straight, they will be all different lengths. We make them the same length by curing our fingers. That way all fingers can be resting on home row all at once. If you're having trouble with this, pretend you have a ball under your hand and your fingers are forming around it.
