How do I apply a 30-day eligibility status to newly enrolled students?

Newly enrolled students with siblings in the same household should be assigned the same eligibility status for the first 30 days of school. The students being assigned the same household eligibility may be newly enrolled students entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, etc.

April 1st Reporting

If you are considering applying for CEP, eligibility is based on enrollment data and the Identified Student Percentage (ISP) certified for free meals as of this date. For CEP districts, this reporting provides the most accurate free listing to include as of the April 1st date for CEP renewal.

What report should be used for claims reporting for a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) district?

Where can I locate the USDA Non-Discrimination Statement?

The USDA guidelines require school SFAs to include the Non-Discrimination Statement at the bottom of any letter sent to households. 

NYS Student_Information_Repository_System (SIRS)

Students who have an approved lunch application or other documentation acceptable to the federal lunch program must be reported for free or reduced-price lunch (FRPL) purposes. Students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch when their eligibility is determined. Therefore, the start date must be the date the eligibility is approved. Heartland School Solutions, the developer of both Nutrikids and Mosaic, has prepared a video to inform customers who are considering a conversion from Nutrikids to Mosaic. Contact Food Service for a pricing quote and an estimated timeframe for a conversion process.

Financial Export

Mosaic provides a Custom Financial Export that allows you to select specific fields for export to a file that can subsequently be edited using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Once the setup is established for the export, you will be able to run the export at any time in the future.

Expiring Applications

Be sure all applications are expired manually when prompted by the Pending Eligibility Reminder. NUTRIkids will NOT expire automatically. Year End Temps are those students who have held the 30-day grace period with statuses.
