There are some important tasks you will need to consider before the new school year begins. Please refrain from using the program while the CNYRIC is getting your database ready for the new school year. We will notify you once we have completed the Start of Year Tasks.

Verify with the CNYRIC that the Year End program has been completed.
Once the new student import file has been uploaded, verify that all students have been updated in the program.
If there are changes to your Food Service staff, please have the district Trusted Agent email the CNYRIC at foodservice@cnyric.org with the necessary changes.
Confirm that all student and adult meal price changes are correct.
Print and save a Temporary Year End list so that you have a record of these carryovers for reference.
Update Credit Limits, if applicable.
Programs: If your district has been approved for CEP, or if you are reapplying for CEP/Provision 2 programs, please email the CNYRIC Food Service Team a copy of your State approval letter so that we can add these percentages to the NUTRIkids program for you.
You may want to print Student Rosters in case of problems with equipment or a power outage.
Review Adult Accounts to add or deactivate. Before deactivating an Adult's account, make sure the adult’s account balance is $0.00.
Don't forget to set MySchoolBucks.com so that it is collecting payments!

At least one week prior to school starting, place all points of sale where they will be used.
Connect the power and network cables.
Power on the points of sale.
If the computer is connected to the internet, and you are experiencing errors within Nutrikids or hardware issues, please contact us right away.
Devices may need Windows updates. Leave the device on for at least an hour so that any needed Windows updates are applied (as per the rules of your Instructional Technology team).
DO NOT start a meal session. It will add an extra day to your school year.
IMPORTANT: If you are a district that uses MySchoolApps.com, please do not conduct any end-of-year activities within MySchoolApps.com until we have completed your end-of-year work. We will notify you when our work is complete. Thank you!
