Expiring Applications

Best Practices for Expiring Applications: 

1. Expiring Applications is NOT the same as deleting them. Please call us first before deleting ANY application. Most likely there is something else that can be done besides deleting.

2. Be sure all applications are expired manually when prompted by the Application Status Reminder. NUTRIkids will NOT expire automatically.

3. Prior to deleting, deactivating, or expiring application lists in NutriKids, use the print or save options in List/Print to have a list available, if needed, for future reference. You will not be able to access any of this information once it has been deleted.

4. If you do have to deactivate or delete an existing application, make sure to include a note and print via Application Info for future reference. Attach this to the original documentation.

Qualifications for Expiration - 2 Different types of Expiration 

NUTRIkids gives you control over the expiration process by allowing you to expire manually all that qualify for expiration. The following have been determined to qualify for expiration: 

1.  All Year-End Temporary Eligibilities - These students have a status carried over from last year and have 30 days from the beginning of the school year to submit a new application.  

2.  Pending Eligibilities (Applications) – These are all of the applications that have been processed during the new school year and have had an eligibility change and a decrease in benefits has occurred. 

3. There is a 10-day grace period for all decreases in benefits. (Note: this 10-day grace period does NOT apply to Verification loss of benefits, at the November 15th date).

4. Grace Period Expiration Reminder - 10-Day Grace Period
