The best performance from a point of sale tablet results from operating with a stable wireless Internet connection. In areas with poor or no WiFi coverage, the tablet may struggle to function effectively. The tablet, like a traditional point of sale, is able to operate in offline mode (ie: while at a bus area out of range of your WiFi network) and will resynchronize with the rest of your systems when it regains connectivity. But intermittent connections may disrupt the flow of processing student transactions. For best performance, it may be necessary to supplement your organization's WiFi network with additional access points placed where they will support your use of a wireless tablet. Your internal technology support team is your best source of information regarding WiFi connectivity in the areas where the tablets are to be used.
