Students who have an approved lunch application or other documentation acceptable to the federal lunch program must be reported for free or reduced-price lunch (FRPL) purposes. Students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch when their eligibility is determined. Therefore, the start date must be the date the eligibility is approved.

Heartland, the vendor for Mosaic and Nutrikids food service software follows a strict guideline for programming the field requirements for a SIRS Export to be generated from the food service software.
These fields are currently as follows:
District Code (NY followed by the first 6 digits of the District BEDS Code)
Program Location Code (0000 acceptable and used by Heartland)
School Year Date (June 30th of the reported School Year)
Student ID (School District Student ID)
Program Code (0198, 5817 for each record based on the SIRS Manual requirement)
Beginning Date (The Start Date of the program service which must be between July 1st and June 30th of the reporting school year)
Ending Date (Blank, unless the program service ends).
The districts supported by the CNYRIC food service department have a scheduled task for a SIR's Export. The export is shared with the CNYRIC Data Warehouse to be uploaded to the State.
