It is the teachers’ professional responsibility to attend all Wednesday meetings.
Teachers are expected to attend Wednesday meetings -- general staff, Mentor/Mentee, curriculum, team/committee, and in-services.
Teachers who cannot be present for scheduled meetings must inform their assigned administrator.
Please do NOT schedule doctor, dental, or any other personal appointments for Wednesdays until after 5:30 p.m.
Additional meetings may be called at the discretion of the Administration.
1st Wednesday - Beginning Teacher Meetings
2nd Wednesday - Staff Meeting
3rd Wednesday - Workshop Wednesday
4th Wednesday - Wellness Wednesday (Message/Task from Student Services)
Instructional Assistants, due to the limit on the number of hours worked per week, may not attend after-school staff meetings as this would put the work week beyond the 40-hour maximum. Therefore, Instructional Assistants may attend one of two Tuesday morning sessions during which the admin team will deliver the same information from Wednesday meetings. Please work with your classroom Collaborative Planning team to determine which Instructional Assistant will attend on Tuesday at 10:00am and which Instructional Assistant will attend on Tuesday at 1:30pm.
Reminder: Please do NOT schedule any appointments after school on Wednesdays.
Also referred to as Professional Learning Community (PLC) Meetings in other schools throughout CMS.

IEP meetings and other meetings should not be scheduled during CT time.

ALL STAFF ARE EXPECTED TO REGISTER FOR COURSES IN MyTalent
Remember, NO Registration = NO Credit!
Note: Complete all post-course surveys. Credit is issued after all surveys have been completed.
*Occasionally, there are in-services offered outside of CMS in which a teacher would like to attend. These must be requested in writing along with the in-service information, data to support you and/or your team's need, and workshop cost to your facilitators for approval [click here for form] They will give the information to the principal and school financial secretary once the request has been approved by the Lead Teachers or the facilitators. The school will not pay any late fees for registration, so the request to attend must be in a timely manner. If approval is made and the workshop is school-funded, the attending teacher(s) is responsible for presenting a minimum 30 minute training/sharing session on the following Wednesday for all staff or your team/school.
*CANVAS -- CMS and the State of North Carolina have adopted Canvas a learning management system. The Canvas LMS provides a way to simplify teaching and learning by connecting all the digital tools teachers and students use in one easy place. It dramatically increases student-/teacher communication and personalizes the classroom in a way that is impossible using traditional means. Students and teachers log into Canvas at Canvas Login Options using their NCEdCloud account.
