Copiers: Metro School has two Toshiba copiers for staff use
All desktop computers have been set to these copiers for printing capabilities. Expectations are as follows:
1. Only copy what is necessary. Do not make excess copies as it is imperative that we keep costs at a minimum.
2. If the copier is not working properly, notify the Treasurer II and/or the Technology Facilitator. Do not simply leave the copier jammed or broken without notifying the above persons.
3. Toner and paper needs should be directed to the Treasurer II.
4. Any documents printed, or copied, that contains student information can NOT be left at the copier. This is a violation of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) Federal Law.
How to get copies: CMS continues to use a “centralized” WiFi copier system. Teacher laptops will have printer drivers installed. Our Technology Facilitator, can assist you to ensure your laptop has been properly configured. Your CT/PLC teammates or mentor can assist with showing you how to initiate the printing process.
There are two (2) centralized copiers:
1- Copy Machine in Media Center - Workroom (shown in your “connect to printer” option)
2 -Copy Machine in Related Services Suite workroom (shown in your “connect to printer” option)
PLAN AHEAD… centralized printing results in your “print request” being sent to the printer queue; this means your request is processed along with anyone else sending a print request, therefore printing is not “instantaneous”.
Emergency requests need to be reported to an administrator and the Head Custodian immediately. Examples are broken pipes, broken glass, discolored/damaged ceiling tiles, heating/AC problems, holes in the wall, wall phone or any other type of property damage.
Non-Emergency requests [anything that does not put students or faculty in immediate danger] should be clearly and specifically stated in an email sent to La’Ronda Hill or Zabrina Stephens. They will then submit your non- emergency request to the appropriate CMS maintenance department.
CMS is a "Smoke Free" environment. Employees are prohibited from smoking or using other tobacco products on all CMS property. CMS property includes the parking garage, "old" Morgan school, and the "old" Education Center parking lots. Persons and organizations using the school facilities or grounds shall agree to abide by the non- smoking policy. You are not permitted any extra time off campus to smoke or take care of off-campus business. If you leave the campus for an urgent reason, an EMERGENCY (Blue form) Request to Leave Early form will need to be filled out and signed by an administrator. Do not leave the campus for any reason unless you have the correct paperwork filled out and signed by an administrator. In addition, you must "clock out" when leaving and "clock in" when returning to the building.
