Personal Calls
Personal calls should be made before or after the instructional day using phones other than office phones. Staff may not make or receive personal calls during instructional hours, whether using a school phone or personal cell phone. Cell phones and Bluetooth ear devices can NOT be used for personal, non-emergency calls during work hours.
Locations of Phones
There are school phones available in the back conference room, staff lounge, and in the staff workroom [staff mailbox area].
*Return calls to parents within 24 business hours.
NO CELL PHONE USAGE (including texting, checking social media sites or using Bluetooth earpiece devices) is allowed during classroom instructional time.
Do not take any cell phone calls, including from parents, while you are in the classroom. The only exception is use of your cell phone to contact parents in an emergency situation and a member of the admin team or nursing staff has been informed.
The administrative team is required to have staff members carry a cell phone for emergency situations. Be sure to check your mailbox for call messages that come to you through the main office during the day.
NOTE: Check cell phone messages at times when you are not in the classroom. We understand that cell phones could be used for “alerts” (alarm reminders) related to specific student needs. We also understand that cell phones might be used to assist with keeping track of/timing seizures.
If you are observed using your cell phone to check for any type of personal or social media messages while in the classroom you will be asked to put it away.
