Throughout the school year, students participate in a variety of classroom, district, and state assessments designed to monitor academic progress, inform instruction, and measure mastery of South Carolina Academic Standards.
Students participate in district-approved universal screening assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics to help identify academic strengths and areas where additional support may be needed. These assessments are used to guide instruction and intervention and are not included in students' course grades.
Students participate in all state-required assessments administered by the South Carolina Department of Education.
Required assessments may include, but are not limited to:
SC READY – English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science (Grade 6 only)
Student participation in state assessments is expected unless otherwise permitted by state guidelines.
Teachers use a variety of classroom assessments, including quizzes, projects, performance tasks, and major assessments, to monitor student learning and provide feedback throughout the instructional process.
