Homework and classroom assignments are designed to reinforce learning, extend classroom instruction, and develop responsibility, organization, and independent work habits.
Students are expected to:
Complete assignments on time.
Communicate with teachers when assistance is needed.
Monitor assignments through Canvas and PowerSchool.
Make-Up Work
Make-Up Work
Students are responsible for making up assignments missed during an excused absence.
Assignments due on the day of an absence are due the day the student returns.
Students have the same number of days they were absent to complete missed assignments without penalty.
Students should communicate with their teachers as soon as possible after returning to school.
Students who know they will be absent for an extended period should work with their teachers before the absence whenever possible.
If a student is absent on the day of a scheduled assessment or major project but was present for the instruction leading up to the assessment and was aware of the scheduled date, the teacher may require the assessment or project to be completed upon the student's return. This aligns with the district's expectations for make-up work and assessments.

Students are encouraged to submit assignments by the assigned due date.
Late work submitted before the unit assessment may receive full credit.
Late work submitted after the unit assessment through the end of the grading period may earn a maximum grade of 60.
Teachers will communicate assignment due dates and unit assessment timelines.
