Clubs and organizations are created for everyone at Clover Middle School! They are designed to have an integral role in carrying out the philosophy and goals of Clover Middle School.
More information about clubs can be obtained from the sponsors or the school website at https://www.clover.k12.sc.us/o/cms
Guidelines for attendance of student activities:
Students must be in attendance a minimum of two blocks on the day of the activity in order to participate in the school-sponsored event. This rule applies to all school activities including fine arts and athletics.
A student whose absence is considered excused may be given permission to participate by the principal.
Students who are suspended out-of-school are barred from attending any school activities during the dates they are suspended or expelled.
ACADEMIC COMPETITION
Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Academic Quiz teams are organized for those students who are interested in academic competition. All teams are subject to tryouts. CMS also offers a Math Team and a Math Counts Team, which are competitive middle school math teams. Both the Academic Quiz teams and the Math teams compete in a variety of competitions against other middle schools.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The Student Council of CMS is organized to provide an opportunity for student expression and leadership; to build a harmonious relationship between the students, the faculty, the administration, and the community; to promote the practice of good citizenship and school spirit; and to involve all students in decisions which will benefit the school. Officers are elected by student vote. Each team will elect representatives early in the school year. Students will be involved in numerous activities prior to and after school hours. A representative's status in the club will be determined by his or her participation at Student Council functions. Exemplary school behavior is also a requirement.
