NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
(NJHS)
The National Junior Honor Society is a service organization made up of students who have displayed excellent academic achievement, worthy character, and a commendable attitude. The purpose of the club is for students to use academic excellence to serve their schools and communities as well as themselves. Eligible students will be identified using academic and behavioral criteria. An after-school induction ceremony will be held to honor students invited to join the society.
NJHS Selection Criteria
Selection for membership is determined by the Faculty Council and is determined based upon outstanding scholarship, character, service, citizenship and leadership.
Membership is limited to members of 7th and 8th grade. Seventh graders will be considered for membership during their fall semester based on meeting the scholarship, character, service, citizenship, and leadership from their sixth-grade year.
Candidates must have been in attendance at Clover Middle School for at least one (1) semester.
The scholastic requirement for membership is a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
A NJHS member in good standing who transfers from another school and brings a letter from the former principal/school advisor or certificate of membership from previous middle school shall automatically be accepted as a member of the Clover Middle School chapter in accordance with the NJHS Constitution.
Eligible candidates under review for membership must not have been assigned ISS, STOP, or OSS for any reason during the previous or current school year as determined by Faculty Council review.
Students who are eligible for induction shall be notified in writing. The above-mentioned selection criteria will be outlined in the invitation. Students will complete a candidate form for further consideration for selection.
