CMS Students are issued iPads by Clover School District. These deivces are property of the school district and need to be treated as such. Students who are unable to responsibly maintain their device and use it appropriately may face discipliary consequences.
Level 1 Violations
Include but are not limited to: repeated uncharged device (3 times or more), unprepared for class, careless or irresponsible use, off task behaviors, or having ANY GAMES, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND COMMUNICATION APPS NOT APPROVED BY THE SCHOOL.
1st Offense - Verbal Redirection/Warning
2nd Offense -Restricted Usage for Class Period and Lunch Detention
3rd Offense - Restricted Usage for One Day and Communicate with Parent and Team
4th Offense - Restricted Usage from Time of Incident for five school days and Communication to Parent and Team
Continued Offenses- Office Referral
Level 2 Violations
Include but are not limited to: photographing/filming others without permission or without their knowledge, bullying with device, harmful or malicious activities, accessing, deleting and/or sharing inappropriate websites, materials, videos or photos, gaming during classroom instruction
1st Offense - Restricted Usage for Three Days, Lunch Detention & Communicate with Parent and Team
2nd Offense - Restricted Usage of the Device and Lunch Detention for a Week & Communicate with Parent and Team
3rd Offense - Refer to Administration
Level 3 Violations
Include criminal offenses that require the involvement of law enforcement and/or recommendation for expulsion. Possession and use of school issued devices on school property acknowledges consent to search the contents of the device. Misuse of technology outside of school that impacts the people or environment on campus may also necessitate similar disciplinary consequences and searches.
