Hello Kim, thanks for coming in for me today!!
Please text if you need anything in the morning 902-940-3762. Synthia M next across can help as well.
Masks must be worn in the hallways.
They can remove masks once they are in their designated spot in the music room.
Seating plans are in the black binder beside my desk. Use these class lists in the event of a fire drill as well.
When students are sitting in a circle or grouped together for a story, please have them put on their masks.
Turn on the projector to get sound and make sure you are in present mode on this google site. That way videos will play without having to open them up in a new tab.
No outdoor duty
Current schedule on the bulletin board behind my desk.
Music adventures on hold due to covid
Music flex time (blank spots in the schedule) on hold due to covid
I have left extra, so don't worry about getting to it all. Just use what is working. There are some music books beside my desk to choose from as well.

When the fire bell rings, a students lines up, opens the door and begins to lead the class out.
The teacher is the last one out. Windows closed, shut off the lights, and door closed.
We leave the classroom and go through the courtyard (gate at the back) to the soccer field.
When all students are out, use the class seating charts to do a roll call.
Re-enter the building when directed.
Have students show you this poem! Have them teach it to you for fun:)
They know it very well.
They can perform using speaking voice, whisper voice, singing voice, and even inside their head with just the actions!
Finger Play
This is new for the K students. They can sing and follow along with actions when they feel comfortable or just watch and listen for today!
Egg Shaker dance, most K classes have done this one before. Pass one shaker to each student and then follow along with the video. Students should stay that their sticker.
Soon a special day is coming to show our love and support for Indigenous people of Canada. Here are two awesome kids sharing about their culture through dancing and drumming. Check it out!
Song/Poem
One potato, two potato, three potato, four!
Poor Mr. Potato head, he fell on the floor!
Five potato, six potato, seven potato, eight!
Put him back together now, we just can't wait!
Here is a video so you can hear the song and the question/answer section. Pass out the parts of the Mr. Potato head. Students close their eyes and hold out their hands.
After the pieces are all passes out, sing "who has the eyes?" They will respond with "I have the eyes" - Then students can put the Mr. Potato Head together. We do it a little differently than the video, so just ask a helper to should you.
For the scarf dance, pass out one scarf to each child. They get what they get! All the colours are beautiful :)
Do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man
Do you know the muffin man, who lives down Drury lane!
Sing song, then open the Muffin Man - jamboard.
Have one student come up to the smarboard to take off a muffin of their choice. Then they point to each square. The class read along as they point.
When there is a muffin the class says "yum" when the square is empty say "shhh."
Sing the song Muffin Man again and choose another student to come up take off a muffin and point.
Keep going until every muffin is gone!

Have students explain the process here. First have them teach you the song, then show you the jamboard to create a B section. Choose students who are at their best to come up to the smartboard to choose something from the bakery. Once each square if full then speak and clap the word chain as a class.
Soon a special day is coming to show our love and support for Indigenous people of Canada. On Wednesday we wear Orange to show that support. Please check out the two videos below. The first explains what "Indigenous" means. The second video is an Indigenous singer and song writer named Tara. She is going to teach you a beautiful song about the Strawberry Moon that is important to her culture. Check it out!
