Please see bulletin board by my desk for schedule and the black binder for seating plans/class lists etc. Hope you have a great day, thank you!
Listening/Dramatization activity - Just follow the directions given by the narrator.
Students pat along with the beat and echo the phrases!
If anyone is scared remind them that teachers would NEVER pick something that is too scary!
Book is on my desk!
Students have done a movement activity with this piece of music before, but they have never seen this cool video/listening map before. They will enjoy this one as a fun end to the class.
All classes love this folk dance/ movement activity this year. Ask the classes to teach it to you!
It's a cumulative dance. On each repetition a new motion is added to the previous set. I think the students will be able to show it to you but just in case here is the breakdown of the movements.
A : Circle around sticker for 8 counts, pat for 8
B: (Adding one more each time)
Balance on one foot
Balance on the other foot
Down on one knee is added
Down on the other knee added
Elbow added
Other elbow added
Head added!
Teacher note:
Review/Warm-up - they haven't done this one since you're last visit so they would benefit from a repeat! You could try it with some different voices, speaking, whisper, silly, robot, inside your head with actions etc.
Teacher note:
-Listen/watch the orchestra play a class favourite. The "Syncopated Clock."
-We often do this one with scarves but students can just watch for today or you can pass out scarves to students if you'd like.
-Each class has their own bin of scarves on the window ledge. They will show you how to move the scarves for the different sections of the music.
-A section - bounce scarf
-B section - float scarf
-C section - throw your scarf up!
Form - ABACA
Teacher note : Students will know how to play! I usually sing it to them but the video should work well! Ask a student to show you have to play!
Teacher note: To play the video the google site needs to be in "preview" mode. This is the double screen icon at the top right of toolbar.
