Music

VCE Music offers students opportunities to perform, create and study music across a range of genres, cultures and historical contexts. Students select their instrument as a study in which they develop their solo performance skills, and also rehearse and perform with one of the College’s ensembles – Cheltenham Voices, VCE Guitar Ensembles or Senior Concert Band (ensemble alternatives may be considered on an individual case-by-case basis). Students develop knowledge of stylistic, aesthetic and expressive qualities, in addition to becoming familiar with musical characteristics whilst developing their ability to communicate their understanding through music making: performing, composing, arranging and/or improvising. They further develop their musicianship, including aural perception, analysis of musical works, performances, and music language.
