Topic: Verbs
Learning objectives: Teacher will ask students to identify verbs in various sentences, and discuss the function of verbs in a sentence. If they are action or movement verbs, students will mime or act out the verbs if possible. The aim of the lesson is for students to be able to identify which word in a sentence is a verb, and to understand the meaning and function of the verb.
Activities:

1. Teacher asks students to act out various emotions, prompted by slides from a presentation. Students can mime, pull faces etc to show their understanding of the adjective.
2. Some students can then choose an emotion to act out, without prompting, and classmates can try to guess which emotion is being performed.
3. Teacher will then ask students various questions in the format "What makes you feel...?"
4. Teacher guides students through worksheet which asks students to match situation pictures to an appropriate emotional response picture.

Learning Objective: Students are able to corretly use the time expressions in the morning, in the afternoon and at night to describe simple activities from students' daily routine.
Activities:
Students look at picture prompts of various everyday activities.
Students who can, are encouraged to read the accompanying questions (e.g. "When do you brush your teeth?").
Students respond accordingly, using the correct time expression, depending on when that acitivity is done.
Students then cut, sort and stick the activity pictures onto the correct corresponding paper.
Students then use the completed paper task to give full spoken answers e.g. "I brush my teeth in the morning".
Any remaining time will be spent reading "Beef Stew" to practice pronunciation and add to vocabulary.
