My idea was to make a cup that went straight up and was round. This idea evolved because I never been on the wheels so I wanted to make something easy. So first you had to throw the clay ball in the center then start making it into a cone pushing up and down then once it was centered and a good cone shape then you would use your thumb to put a hole in the cone to start pushing the clay out into a cup shaped making sure the sides didn’t go to far out then after that was done you would place three small pieces of clay to the three sides to trim the clay where you used a scraping tool gently putting it on the clay and pressing the pedal. The art work means “First time trying the wheel” and I want the audience to think about the first time they went on the wheel and how it went. The most difficult part was making the sides not go out too far and I overcame that by making sure I stop and check before doing more pushing. If I started over I would change the length of it and make it a little bigger. This art piece is a realistic piece because of how there are cups being used from clay. It doesn’t put a unique place on me since it's just a clay cup. I love how it came out the way I was planning it to come out and I like how the color came out.

My idea was to make a bowl that stretched outwards and resembled a chip and dip bowl. This idea evolved because I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could make this type of bowl. So first you had to throw the clay ball in the center then start making it into a cone pushing up and down then once it was centered and a good cone shape then you would use your thumb to put a hole in the cone to start pushing the clay out into a bowl shape making sure the sides went far out but not to far out then after that was done you would place three small pieces of clay to the three sides to trim the clay where you used a scraping tool gently putting it on the clay and pressing the pedal. The artwork means "Challenging myself to success” and the audience can think about a time they had to challenge themselves. The most difficult part was not pushing the sides too far out where they would break and I fixed that by doing small steps with the pushing. I wouldn’t change anything if I started over because of how I was challenging myself to make a good bowl. This is a realistic art piece because of how there are clay bowls out there that people use. It doesn’t put a unique place on me since it's just a clay bowl.

My idea for my second bowl was to make a smaller one that came out not a whole lot. This idea evolved because I wanted to make something small and different from my other two. The process was long, first you had to throw the clay ball in the center then start making it into a cone pushing up and down then once it was centered and had a good cone shape then you would use your thumb to put a hole in the cone to start pushing the clay out into a bowl shape making sure the sides went far out but not to far out then after that was done you would place three small pieces of clay to the three sides to trim the clay where you used a scraping tool gently putting it on the clay and pressing the pedal. The artwork means “Not everything has to be big” and I want my audience to think of they like bigger sculptures or smaller. The most difficult part was making the sides since I want it small. The sides keep getting too thin so I fixed that by making the sides big enough then trimming them down. I wouldn’t change anything if I started over since it challenged me to make something small. This is a realistic art piece since it is a clay bowl. The thing that makes it unique to me is that I like making smaller things to see if I can do it right. I love the size that it has.
