Ringgold High School Public Safety has two public service projects for the 2022-2023 school year. Each year our Skills USA chapter assists the city of Ringgold, Ga. With their Memorial Day and Veterans Day flag display. The city lines the streets with flag displays to honor fallen and deceased veterans of Catoosa County. Ringgold Skills USA makes the wooden crosses for the display. Each year we make between 75-100 crosses to replace damaged crosses and to fill orders for new veterans.
This year, Ringgold new CERT program is doing a separate community service project. We are in the process of making stop the bleed kits for our classrooms. Each teacher has an emergency go bag that we are required to have specified items in. We currently do not have a first aid kit for our bags. We are starting with the stop the bleed kits (stop the bleed booklet, tourniquet, roll gauze, 4X4 gauze, exam gloves, and medical shears) with hope of adding other items in the future.
Future projected projects are stocking first aid kits and emergency supply kits for the classroom.
