Welcome to Beaufort Elementary: Sailing Towards Success! ⚓
This week, our school community will focus on the Other People Mindset of Knowing That My Words and Actions Affect Others, which means having an awareness that everything that we say and do can affect others — and our relationships with them.
We are so proud of the following students:
Tucker Jenkins displayed integrity by being honest during a disagreement between two friends.
Alyvia Farrell demonstrated integrity by doing the right thing even when it's hard.
Ms. Morris' Whole Class showed integrity by cleaning up things off the floor, even if it wasn't theirs to clean up.
Hunter Chadwick: Helping other students in need.
Harley Delaney Attended to non-preferred instruction and remained positive throughout the task.
Miles Cooper Showed integrity during the lunch period.
Caroline Salter comes to school with a positive attitude and consistently tries her best daily.
Important Reminders:
To ensure the safety and efficient transition of every child during afternoon dismissal, please adhere to the following procedures:
A. Alternate Adult Pickup
If your child is being picked up by any adult other than the typical, authorized individual (including changes in a daily routine), you must provide a written note to the teacher on that day.
The designated adult must have and present a yellow pick-up card when arriving at the school.
B. Carpool Card Display
When picking up via the afternoon carpool line, please remember to display your yellow pick-up card prominently in the car window (passenger side is generally best) so that staff can clearly see it. This process significantly speeds up the car line and ensures only authorized individuals leave with students.
If you do not have a yellow card, please contact the front office immediately to arrange for one.
Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease:
We have recently seen an increase in Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) cases in our school community. HFMD is a common, typically mild viral illness.
Symptoms generally include:
Fever
Sore throat
A rash with small blisters on the hands, feet, and mouth.
Exclusion and Return Criteria:
To prevent further spread, students must remain home until they meet the following criteria:
They are fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Any open blisters have completely dried.
Prevention and Action:
Families should monitor for fever, mouth sores, and rash.
Please encourage and reinforce good handwashing with soap and water to help prevent spread.
If your student develops symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider for guidance and inform the school office.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students.
