Drama and Performance
Nicholson/Prentiss
This summer in Drama and Performance, our ensemble explored Mind, Body, and Voice and the combination of all three when communicating
MIND
We played memory games such as "I'm going on a camping trip" and "The name game" to exercise our minds
BODY
We started our class with warm ups to get our bodies ready for the day!
Combining Mind and Body
We combined Mind and Body to communicate what characters we were portraying while playing charades
We added an extra challenge with SPECIFICITY as we explored characteristics of various basketball players.
Our specificity game challenged us to use our bodies to reveal characteristics about objects we were holding.
VOICE
We did vocal warm ups to protect our voices and produce the best sound... you never know when you may have to howl at the moon!
Combining MIND, BODY, and VOICE
One of our favorite games, "Zip, Zap, Zop" combined all 3 elements AND helped us work on diction and keeping our energy up!
Changing the beginning consonant sound from 'z' to a letter of our choice added an extra challenge.
We spent a good amount of time on rhythm and working as an ENSEMBLE
Passing the ball to one another and keeping the rhythm while collectively telling a story.
Beat Cypher
We loved "ACTION/CUT"!
Think "Red light/ Green light" but make it DRAMA!
We combined MIND, BODY, and VOICE when transforming into our favorite animals
"Flocking"
What is another name for a "flock"?
