Big Idea: Visual Sound
Inquiry Question: How can the students create their own "textile" based on music theory and sound?
Project Story: Ms. Shenequa and Mr. Franklin planned for the students to learn various songs played on the virtual piano such as Mary Had A Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday, Old McDonald, and more. From their Ms. Shenequa comes in and teaches the student the basics about pattern and have the students collectively choose a shape, color, and line for each note that will then be transcribed into their own pattern. The goal is for the students to study the pattern and play the song using their pattern they created.

The students were taught by Mr. Franklin how to play Mary Had A Little Lamb on their virtual keyboard below. Ms. Shenequa followed up with teaching the students how to create their own pattern using shape, line, and color to each note they were taught. The students collectively chose what shape, color, and line they wanted.

Travis (image in the upper left hand side) created his pattern from a song he made up that is R&B. Noah (image in the bottom left hand side) created his own pattern for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 🌟. Lizabeth (image right above) chose a happy song she listened to when she was in kindergarten.
