    What Were Europeans Seeking?

1300's

As far back as the 1300's, there were disruptions to trade on the seas.  Due to lost power in the Middle East, protection through the trade routes were gone.  With prices increasing on Asian silk and spices, because of less demand by Asians, Europeans were still looking for these items but at a more reasonable price.  Some Europeans saw this as an advantage.  If a supply of these trade goods could be found, then a fortune could be made in Europe on resale.

How did Technology Enable European Exploration?

Can you think of some challenges that Europeans faced by not having a direct route to Asia?

In this chart, we will create a list of challenges that existed, based on the material we have read.
