Sternothyroid m

The sternothyroid sits deep to the sternohyoid, and is broader and shorter than the sternohyoid. Its inferior attachment is the sternum, and its superior attachment is the thryoid cartilage (hence the name). The sternothyroid is innervated by the ansa cervicalis, and its action is to stabilize or depress the thyroid cartilage.
