Esophageal plexus

The esophageal plexus includes nerve fibers from two sources: branches of the right and left vagus nerves and visceral branches from the right and left sympathetic chains. The esophageal plexus and the cardiac plexus contain the same types of fibers and are both considered thoracic autonomic plexuses.
