Panopto Video Analytics (Online Graduate Programs)
In collaboration with Brown University Sheridan Center
I'm Maryam Khademi, a Fall 2025 Data Fellows, working with Carlin Corrigan (Associate Director, Educational Media) and Shelly Strunk (Educational Media Producer) from the Sheridan Center to analyze video viewership data from Brown's online graduate programs. The objective is to understand how students engage with educational videos on Panopto (video platform primarily used by educational institutions) and use these insights to improve future content production.
The Sheridan Center, on average, produces 7-10 videos per course for online graduate programs. As Brown University expands its online programs' offerings, they need data-driven insights to guide their content production decisions. At the moment, the team creates videos without any clear visibility into how students actually interact with them. This project aims to bridge that gap by analyzing viewership patterns and translating findings into actionable recommendations, guiding future content production.
