The project aims to develop functions that facilitate the extraction of data from various sources related to ecological networks, particularly focusing on host-parasite relationships. This includes handling DNA data and other relevant information. The goal is to address the challenge of managing diverse data sources in parasitology research. The developed dataset and functions will support both teaching (in an upcoming ecology class) and research efforts. The project involves creating source functions and potentially a database, with a long-term vision of developing a front-end application. The immediate focus is on making it easier for students to work with these functions and data, primarily using the R programming language. This tool will enhance both the teaching of ecology and facilitate research in parasitology.Â
