Faculty Collaborator: Lulei Su
About:
Colby has been working with Professor Lulei Su to integrate data visualizations and improve survey writing in Chinese language courses. Professor Su aims to incorporate surveys of university students in China into Brown courses, facilitating Brown students' understanding of Chinese perspectives on various issues. Building on previous work, Colby created a guide for writing survey questions that yield easily visualizable results, including step-by-step instructions for entering such questions into a Chinese survey platform. Additionally, Colby developed a Google Colab template using Plotly to help users create a variety of interactive visualizations from the data exported by the survey platform. Finally, Colby is also contributing to a guide for the statistical analysis of student achievement over time.
