Subfloor- 5/8" or 3/4"
Floor Joists
2" x 8" 16" O.C Span 15'-0"
2" x 10" 16" O.C Span 20'-0"
2" x 12" 16" O.C Span 24'-0"
Foundation Wall
10" Thick Concrete
Height depends on the size of the joist and beam to determine how much head room is desired throughout the basement.
Foundation Footing
10" Height
20" Wide centered on Foundation Wall
Concrete Floor: 4" Thick; Rests on top of Footing
Beam: 4" x 10" with post every 10' to 12'
Concrete/Steel Posts: 4" Diameter (NOTE: May add Fascia; Post should extend thru the bottom of the concrete floor)
Pads: Concrete posts rest on a 2'-0" Square below concrete floor
Vent Windows: Use Glass Block Window : 12" to 16" Tall, 16" to 33" Wide. Glass Block 6" Square. Top of Window Flush with bottom of Sill Plate.
Stairs
Step 1 Modify Floor Joists: Double up Floor Joists around the Stair Opening
Step 2 SubFloor: Subtract from Polygon around the stair opening
