Project-based Learning

What is project-based learning?

Project-based learning (PBL) activates relevance, rigor, and student agency by enabling learners to engage in solving meaningful problems over an extended period of time (weeks) and showcasing their solutions to audiences beyond their class and school. BPS is partnering with the Buck Institute, the nation's leading experts on PBL, to grow PBL expertise in our secondary schools.

Resources

The Buck Institute's website is a one-stop shop for any and all resources you might need to explore and implement project-based learning. They have an extensive bank of rubrics for projects, teams, and school self-assessment. They have created a free step-by-step online learning experience for educators exploring how to design projects. They also have a project bank so you don't have to reinvent the wheel and can spend time learning how projects work before you design your own.
